Charlie and Me
I know it’s been posted already, but I wanted to make my own post out about Charlie Daniels. I had the distinct pleasure of playing a concert with him back in 2009 when he did a show with the Austin Symphony. The hall didn’t sell very well, but he still gave a terrific show, and I can say that I got to play with Charlie frickin Daniels on Devil Went Down to Georgia. He was nice as could be to the orchestra, and was more than happy to stop for a photo. His band was fantastic, particularly his drummer. One of the best set players I’ve ever worked with. So, yeah, RIP fiddle man.
